The construction phase of the Con-Arch system employs an innovative, efficient forming and placement system. Con-Arch structures are formed using heavy gauge reusable steel arch forms which are are bolted together in sections of up to 80 feet to create a traveling form system that allows for rapid cycling. All structures are constructed with poured in place structural concrete.
Due to the inherent strength of arch geometry, forms are often stripped and moved the day after concrete is placed. Backfilling with light equipment may begin within 48 hours of the concrete placement.
We maintain over 45 thousand square feet of standard Con-Arch forms in stock, ranging in width from 6' up to 48'. Larger spans up to 100' are constructed using our custom steel ribbed forming system.
Construction includes the following phases:
- Foundation Construction
- Forming System
- Concrete Placement
- Removal/Recycling of Steel Arch Forms
- Sealing of the Structure/Backfill
- Decorative Treatment
